Introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment and encourages them to enjoy themselves while learning about the water with a parent/caretaker whom they trust. Parents practice the important survival skill of teaching their child to roll from front to back and float.

Parent/child class that INTRODUCES infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment.
Accompanied by a parent*, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills through fun and confidence-building experiences, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision.
*We define parent to broadly include all adults with primary responsibility for raising children.

Parents work with their toddlers to learn fundamental safety and pre-swimming skills like floating, blowing bubbles, paddle stroke and kicking. Skills are taught in the context of repetitive songs, fun activities and drills which reinforce physical learning and encourage positive interaction.

Ages 6 months- 3 years. Parent/child class that introduces infants and toddlers to the aquatic environment.

• Blow bubbles – on surface, assisted
• Front tow – chin in water, assisted
• Water exit – parent & child together
• Water entry – parent & child together
• Back float – assisted, head on shoulder
• Roll – assisted
• Front float – chin in water, assisted
• Back tow – assisted, head on shoulder
• Wall grab – assisted

Skills taught 2-3 year olds (able to follow verbal cues, walk on land, but still need an adult in the water to feel comfortable):

• Blow bubbles – mouth & nose submerged, assisted
• Front tow – blow bubbles, assisted
• Water exit – assisted
• Water entry – assisted
• Back float – assisted, head on shoulder
• Roll – assisted
• Front float – blow bubbles, assisted
• Back tow – assisted, head on shoulder
• Monkey crawl – assisted, on edge, 5ft.

Accompanied by a parent*, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortable in the water and develop swim readiness skills through fun and confidence-building experiences, while parents learn about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision. This level class is recommended for toddlers that are able to walk.
